General Dentistry
In our office the emphasis is put on a high standard of care – which starts with regular preventive care.
With advanced diagnostic tools – the early detection and correction of dental problems can minimize the inconvenience, discomfort and expense associated with gum disease and major dental problems.
We live in an age of advanced dental technology - and it is our goal to partner with our patients - to help them have a healthy smile for a lifetime!
Preventive & Diagnostic services:
Today’s leading cause of adult tooth loss is periodontal (gum) disease. To help prevent even the early stages of gum disease – we recommend regular dental hygiene visits.
Prophylaxis: regularly scheduled cleanings to prevent gum disease. The general recommendation is 2 times per year.
Examinations: regular thorough evaluations of your dental health – provided at the cleaning visits.
Digital Radiographs: to assist in the early detection of decay and dental problems.
Periodontal Care: we can provide non-surgical periodontal care including root planing and scaling along with a maintenance plan working with your periodontist.
Ultrasonic: when indicated we use ultrasonic scaler to clean below the gum line to remove build up of plaque and calculus.
CariVu: A brilliant new approach to discovering caries and cracks. DEXIS CariVu™ is a compact, portable caries detection device that uses patented transillumination technology to support the identification of occlusal, interproximal and recurrent carious lesions and cracks.
Restoration Services:
Today there are choices of filling materials and we will work with you to decide what is best for your specific dental needs. We do offer composite resin fillings - this material will match your natural tooth color, as well as amalgam (silver) fillings.
Prosthetic Services:
A high standard of care is especially important when the treatment involves prosthetics. The success of prosthetics directly relates to the care taken in the preparation phase as well as the quality of materials used. We take the time and use high quality materials so that the end result is a beautiful smile.
Crowns: When a tooth’s structure is heavily restored or cracked, porcelain crowns maintain the aesthetic appearance of teeth by covering the entire visible surface of the tooth. Porcelain crowns can be virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth – making them a good choice for visible teeth. Full crowns offer support to damaged or cracked teeth, making them a good choice in maintaining the chewing function of molars.
Implant Crowns: Implant services are becoming the standard of care for patients of all ages in replacing missing teeth. Dr. Elberty will work closely with the oral surgeon to construct and place the abutment and crown as the final restoration to the implant.
Bridges: When a patient has a gap due to missing teeth, oral changes can occur, such as difficulty chewing and the shifting of other teeth. These symptoms can be corrected by creating a customized fixed ( non-removable) dental bridge. With proper fabrication and regular patient care, the results are very functional and long lasting.
Partials & Dentures: There is an exciting new development in partials & dentures – which involves a way for the prosthetics to snap in and stay in place. Dr. Elberty is meticulous with her preparation along every step of the way – to achieve the most comfortable fit possible.
